MASTERCARE Overlay & Decorative Concrete Services:

''We don't pour the concrete, we perfect it after ''

Worn, damaged concrete can often be overlayed with a thin layer of portland cement, polymer enhanced material, that are designed to be applied in thin layers, both inside & out. We have time tested the products we use against the freeze/thaw cycles we experience here in the Northeast. These products also cure to be harder than the original concrete they are going over & have proven to be very durable. Overlays are only for aesthetic ,decorative purposes, & will not repair a structural problem. They are only as strong as what's underneath them. There are different products we use when there is a structural problem within the concrete, which is a whole different discussion.

There are several different ways to apply & color overlay products depending on the look we are trying to achieve. Our overlay work can look like natural fieldstone & flat stone, bluestone, granite, sandstone, tile & even wood. Overlays can be used outside, from thin applications to concrete stairs, walkways, patios & walls, to inside as self leveling & skim coat floors to venetian plaster looking walls. Countertops can also be rejuvenated in this way. Self leveling overlays can be colored, polished & embedded with colored glass chips for a terrazzo look, have faux grout lines cut in for a tile look, or used to simply level out an uneven floor We can consistently install & color overlays that mimic the real thing, at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Sealing the concrete against harsh elements is a vital aspect of all concrete work, to insure longevity of your finished product. There are many different types of sealers available to do this, although some are better than others. With our 'in field' testing, we have narrowed down the sealers we use, to a few types & manufacturers we trust, to give us the maximum protection & look we're after.

With so much aging, neglected stamped concrete out there now, we have studied & field tested ways to rejuvenate stamped concrete & bring it back to it's like new condition. This is an area we plan to further expand into, as the need is great.
